Blizzard just announced that they have closed several thousand Diablo 3 accounts that were found to be in violation of the Terms of Use.

This comes as no surprise, considering the RMAH is slated to go live tomorrow. What I find strange about this ban wave is that it has no rhyme nor reason; botters have been banned seemingly at random. Perhaps a ban 'queue' is in the works, and more bans are to come? I read through the entire (and rather painful) Hellbuddy ban thread, and here are the main points I was able to gather from the comments:
    • There is no relationship between botting schedule and bans.
    • There is no relationship between botting time and bans.
    • There is no relationship between botting areas, behaviors and bans.
    • There is no relationship between total gold earned and bans.
The bans did indeed come very randomly, it wouldn't be a stretch to suggest that Blizzard intentionallybanned accounts at random, perhaps to scare off botters, or maybe even to stagger the stress on their customer support.

Personally, I wasn't affected at all. I run several bots, all of which ran 24/7 if possible. My last round of botting lasted nearly 3 days, and my bots ran into maintenance time. I've yet to receive a ban. I was using Immortal, by the way.

What about you guys? Did you get banned?
